A beautiful, all solid wood Martin guitar at an affordable price – how is that even possible? In order to pull that one off, the Mexican Martin plant leaves the beaten track and uses outstanding but lesser known tone woods for the back and sides. The result is a series of stunningly beautiful guitars with great sound.
With the introduction of the SC shape, Martin, once more, turned the guitar world upside down. The completely new sure align neck system, combined with an extremely comfortable neck profile, allows a playability that was previously unthinkable on anything but an electric guitar. The non-symmetrical body, with its groundbreaking bracing design delivers a strong sound when played unamplified and a high feedback resistance on stage, even at high volumes.
While earlier SC models stood out for their playfully detailed design, this instrument is kept absolutely plain. The all sapele body features a satin finish all around and the soundhole is adorned by a simple stripe of light wood. The single ply binding emphasizes the understatement. The guitar’s Richlite fretboard is decorated by humble mother of pearl dot fret markers and the headplate is rosewood patterned HPL.
All this is a drastic contrast to the SC-10E-Sapele’s warm but crisp tone and its overwhelming playability! Just like the SC-13, the SC-10E-Sapele is equipped with a Martin E-1 system.
Do you prefer winning over people with performance, rather than frills? In that case, the SC-10E-Sapele is the SC-guitar for you!
